Individual Program - Part of your vacation in Norway  From hotel to hotel including luggage transportation.

The classical Tour of Norway can be done in many ways. We offer you this spectacular meeting with the Norwegian Mountains and the Fjords by bicycle. You start and end up in Gol where you can park your car, or easily get there by Oslo - Bergen railroad. Crossing the mountain area between Hemsedal and Valdres, you cross the Fillefjell at the foot of Jotunheimen, pass the King's Salmon river by Lærdal, spending one day on boat on the Sognefjord and at last you take the famous Flåm Railroad to Myrdal where you bike the Rallar road, across the Hardangervidda back to Hallingdal and Gol where your car is waiting.

Day by day program

Day 1               Meeting point - Kamben Hotel, Gol Mountain

You are gathering in the Kamben Mountainhotel before dinner (19 - 21) After dinner we give you all necessesary information for the tour, together with maps and discription of the route. You can rent a suitable bike w/ 21 gear.

Day 2               Golsfjellet - Gomobu                          31 km

You start in a flat and easy terrain on the mountain plateau between Hemsedal Gol and Valdres, along small lakes where you may try to catch a trout, or take a swim. You will pass Gaukelia with summerfarms and lots of goats and you will have a fantastic Panorama all day before reaching the Lodge for tonight, Gomobu.

Day 3               Gomobu – Grindaheim - Tyinkrysset            37 km

From Gomobu you go down to lake Vaset, and along this and 3 other lakes of Syndin, through an idyllic area of summerfarms, many still in use, till you get to Langehage at end of lakes. At last you go downhill from the mountain,having a nice view to the Vangsmjøsi Lake and Grindaheim, where you take the busride along the E16 to Øye Stavechurch and climbing up to Tyinkrysset where your next night will be in Tyinkrysset Gjestegard. If you have some more guts left you can bike a sideroad Rd53 up to Lake Tyin (200m in 4 kms), From the old TyinHotel you will have the most magnificant view of the 2.000 m peaks of Jotunheimen. Well back to Tyincross you will have dinner and a good night sleep.

Day 4               Tyinkrysset - Fillefjell - Lærdal             68 km

Today the most of the day is downhill. If you are in good shape, you can take the old "Kings Road" across the Fillefjell. Passing through the Borgund Valley with the famous stavechurch, you will arrive in Lærdal, a small (UNESCO-protected) village at the Sognefjord. Before dinner you can visit the new Wild-Salmon-Center close by the Grandane Hotel where you stay.

Day 5               Day cruising the Sognefjord

Today you will have a peaceful day onboard the ferry and the boat on Sognefjord. Going through the wild Fjordscenery with steep mountains on each side of the narrow fjord. Boat change Midfjord is an exciting experience. If you want to stay on the boat to Gudvangen, and take next boat to Lærdal, a supplement of NOK 225 can be paid. You will end in Flåm where you will have dinner and stay in the charming Fretheim Hotel. Time off in the afternoon to enjoy the magic Flåm.

Day 6               Flåm Railroad / Rallarroad Myrdal - Finse   35 km

Early ricers day; you take your bike on the Flåm Railroad for departure at 09.40. A masterpiece of engineering brings you through the wild and beautiful Flåm Valley up to Vatnahalsen (Myrdal on 850 masl on the Bergen Railroad). Here we start our biketour across Hardangervidda, following the old constructionroad from building the Bergen Railwaay only used by hikers and bikers. We pass the highest point by Taugevatn 1.341 masl where the old line-inspector building from 1904 might be open as a café. Stay in Finse 1222 Hotel and may also visit the "Rallar" museum.

Day 7               Finse (1.222) - Haugastøl - Geilo           49 km

Last day you will follow the Rallarroad to the end by Haugastøl, where you meet the RD7 and you follow this 22km to Geilo. The last night you will spend in Bardøla Hotel. Dinner.

Day 8              

After breakfast you are dismissed from the tour, and you can continue your vacation in Norway in another pleasant way.
