Minibus & bike

 

Combining a nice bike tour with moving to a new area for overnight and the next leg along a new

and interesting bike route. Covering the South coast of Norway, the Telemark Kanal, the

Middelage Valley, the summer farming area of Hallingdal, the Navvy Road along Bergen railroad

and the glacier area of Jostedalen. The final leg will be through the “historical” valley of

Eksingedalen, ending with a boat trip along Osterfjord to Bergen. Each day will start and end by

bus. Accommodation will be in well known tourist resorts, in 3 – 4* hotels. A modern minibus and

a suitable trailer for 16 bikes and luggage, provides a pleasant vacation.

Program day by day

 

Sunday: Transfer from OSL, Gardermoen or RYG, Rygge Airport, Oslo or TRF, Torp Sandefjord/Oslo to our first Hotel, the Risør Hotel in the charming coast city. Dinner, and Information of the tour.

Monday: Along the Skagerak coast, and visit to charming village of Kragerø. Busride to Tvedestrand,

and biketour with a ferry ride to Risør for a break, may be we can by some fresh prawns on the

pier. Bus brings us to next starting point Øysang, and bike through to Kragerø, a lively summer

city. Bus takes us back to Risør for dinner. Bike legs 30 + 25 kms. Busride 205 kms

Tuesday: Interesting Telemark canal with the locks through the forest. Busride into the country

side passing Drangedal and Nisse Lake before start bike tour in Kviteseid. You can follow 30 or

47 km down the canal to Lunde and Ulefoss. Short bus ride to the education centre of Bø. 30–47 kms

bike 200km bus.

Wednesday: Busride to Notodden and Kongsberg (Silver city) before we enter the Valley of

Numedal. Bike tour from Flesberg along the river on small farm roads up to Rollag. Here we visit

the old Stave church, before the bus ride takes us across another mountain to Hallingdal, and we

find our charming Kamben Hotel in Gol Mountain for 2 nights. Bike tour 35 kms – Bus ride 235 kms.

Thursday: Day off or crossing the summer farm area around Tisleifjord. You can choose

between more bike tours, or just take a day off the saddle.

Friday: Bike the Top of Norway – Rallarvegen. Early departure by bus to Geilo and Haugastøl.

Short train ride to Finse, next to Hardangerjøkul Glacier. Bike tour along the rail road across the

mountain and follow the Flåm Valley all the way down to the Fjord. A great variation in one day.

Bus meet you in Flåm, and takes you to the north side of Sognefjord, where we stay in Eikum

Hotel in Hafslo. Bike tour 35 or 55 kms – Bus ride 120 kms.

Saturday: Biketour along charming Veitastrond Lake to the foot of Jostedalen Glacier in nature

taken out of the fairy tail. Bike tour ca 45km

Sunday: Last bike tour through Eksingedalen. Longer bus ride in the morning via Sogndal, Vik

and Vikafjellet to Voss. Visit a Stavechurch. In Evanger we follow Teigdalen to the top of

Nesheimfjellet (700m) Enjoy a bike tour down the old fashioned valley with the typical stone

construction roads from the old time. Bus to Mo and M/S Bruvik along Osterfjord to Bergen.

Bike tour 35 kms – Bus ride 150 kms.
